2016

Having spent the past four years making repeated visits to Pembrokeshire, I am delighted to have four paintings at the Goat Street Gallery in St David’s. A gallery definitely worth visiting with beautiful tapestries and ceramics created by the owners, Dan and Amanda.

I have also been selected to take part in the ‘Showcase’ exhibition, a curated show of SoCo artists to be held at the Arts Forum in St Leonards. Exhibition opens on June 14th until June 26th.

The work I will be showing is selected from my ongoing body of work, titled ‘Internal Landscapes’.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with cancer and my life turned inwards. No longer able to balance on the edge looking outwards I decided to draw on my emotional response to my internal landscape.Once treatment was finished I was able to spend short amounts of time in the studio reflecting on the changes I was feeling at a cellular level. I have found that visualising and recording my body’s response to the cancer and the treatment has been cathartic and restorative.

These landscapes, with other work will be exhibited at the Conquest Hospital during the Coastal Currents festival in Hastings, which runs throughout September.
